Gioconda acquired most of her cooking skills whilst studying in Italy and further refined her experience in high-end private dining clubs, hotels and restaurants in London.
Known for her 14-part television series PARADISE KITCHEN on BBC Food Channel, Gioconda’s attention to detail and friendly personality have earned her an enthusiastic following both in England and Spain where her services are much in demand both as a private chef and as a source of simple and delicious recipes. PARADISE KITCHEN was viewed in England and all over the World and continues to be screened in South America, Australia and South Africa.
She is a competent presenter, knows her subject and is passionate about using the freshest local ingredients and creating dishes that combine traditional cooking science with the cuisines of Spain, Mediterranean, North Africa and London. She has also travelled extensively in Spain, India, England, Morocco, Mexico, Italy and Lebanon and has gathered ideas and techniques from each place, working with professional chefs and inspired natural cooks throughout her travels.
Gioconda is both creative and practical and her recipes are delicious and good for the health. Her inspirations are Elizabeth David, Francis Mallmann, Ottonlenghi, Nigel Slater, Fergus Henderson, Alice Waters, River Café… to name a few
She has been involved in the Management and Food Creation departments of her mother´s hotel, Trasierra since 1995. She is also a founding member of the Slow Food Movement in Southern Spain.
